
The Polish Teachers Association (ZNP) is one of the oldest trade union organizations in Poland - its roots date back to 1905. As part of the ZNP, the trade union organizations representing the science and higher education sector are associated in the Council for Higher Education and Science of the ZNP.
What are the goals of the ZNP?
The ZNP statute lists the following as the union's statutory goals in the first two places:
1) defending the dignity, rights, and interests of ZNP members
2) active participation in shaping the democratic face of Polish education and upbringing, higher education and science, education in a spirit of tolerance, respect for rights, freedom, and personal dignity.
